Internet TV company TV Everywhere has acquired a stake in rights management company, Rights Tracker in a fundraising round that included incumbent venture investors YFM Group and CCF.

Iolo Jones, CEO of TV Everywhere already acted as Non-executive Chairman of the rights management company whose new client wins this year include All3Media, RDF, ETV and Icon Films.

“I’ve been very impressed with the progress the management team at Rights Tracker has made since joining as Chairman just under a year ago,” comments Jones. “Rights management is a crucial, but often-ignored, part of the content delivery chain. Without it nothing else works and as TV and video distribution becomes more complex, Rights Tracker has the leading solution to enable content owners to maximise their revenues from effective rights management.”

Rights Tracker has established a dominant position in the European TV rights market and has ambitious plans to establish a global online rights marketplace. It has already made moves into new markets such as music, licensing, sports and publishing.

The company is on course to post substantial growth in revenues this year and plans to use the funding to grow into overseas and related markets as well as to complete the development of its next-generation technology.
